Another important reason is that due to the impact of the epidemic, many shipping companies were forced to close down. It directly leads to the shortage of transportation capacity
The decline in international logistics capacity has led to a sharp rise in container ship freight. The freight rate of the US west route has increased nearly three times compared with that at the beginning of the year, and that of the South American route has also skyrocketed! Under the background of tight transportation capacity, container shortage and container dumping have occurred frequently in the industry! Textainer and Triton of the world's top three container equipment leasing companies both said container shortages would continue in the coming months.

European routes, the European epidemic situation rebounded sharply, the overall market volume was stable, freight rates rose.



Mediterranean route, similar to Europe, has slightly increased freight rates.
North American routes, the market is operating at a high level. In order to alleviate the shortage of transportation capacity, there are overtime ships, most of which are full loaded. The air freight rate was basically flat.
For the Persian Gulf route, the overall supply and demand situation was stable, and the freight rate increased by 2.2%.
The Australia New Zealand route is in the peak season before Christmas, and the relationship between supply and demand is good, and the price of spot booking has increased by 10.4%.
South American routes, transport demand is at a high level, freight rates rise again after falling, spot booking prices rise 3.4%
